The Looking Glass Artist Collective of Salisbury Inc. was founded in March 2008 to provide an opportunity for creative people of Rowan/Salisbury North Carolina to share space, resources and ideas.  In July 2011, Looking Glass Artists Center, a non-profit corporation, was formed. 

Members include visual artists, musicians, actors, writers and dancers to name a few. The name “Looking Glass” was chosen because of the belief that, in our art, we see ourselves; and in a Collective, what we do reflects on each other. 

LGAC is located at the corner of Kerr and Lee Streets in Salisbury’s Rail Walk Arts District. The facility includes classroom/lesson space, an art gallery, the Black Box Theater and retail space shared by members.  

There is no salaried staff. Members of the Collective manage the organization.  

Our Gift Shop features work from our members including pottery, paintings, prints, sculpture, stained glass, handwoven baskets, handcarved wood items, jewelry and more.  We are open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 12-4, Saturday 10-6 and during public events held at our facility.  We participate in the 2nd Saturday Art Walk and usually hold artists demonstrations.  In the Photo Gallery, you'll find pictures of the Gift Shop, Black Box Theater, and Classroom which can also be a conference or party room.  

RENT OUR FACILITY

Our entire facility, excluding the Gift Shop, office, and private area of the classroom, is available for rent.  You may also rent either the Black Box Theater or the Classroom separately.  We have a kitchen area adjoining the classroom, which makes it handy for the Black Box as well.  Please see the Rental Rate section for more details.

We rent to companies who need meeting or party space as well as private individuals.
